Here at SECURA, we know the new ideas and fresh perspectives interns provide can be very beneficial. That’s why we offer challenging, hands-on internships across a variety of departments from Claims to Underwriting to Human Resources. We promise there will be no coffee runs!
We hire all majors, and all of our internships are paid. We are looking for students currently enrolled in a two- or four-year program. Typically, we look for students who will not be graduating for at least a year, and we hope to work with you until you graduate.
Find us at the following campuses for career fairs throughout the year: UW-Oshkosh, UW-Green Bay, UW-Milwaukee, UW-Eau Claire, UW-Madison, UW-Platteville, and UW-Whitewater.
Flexible Schedules: Most of our internships are year-round, but we also offer internships for the summer months only. We understand that school comes first, so supervisors work with our interns to accommodate class, club, and exam schedules.
Intern Gatherings: Interns are invited to several intern group lunches throughout their internship. During the school year we have more than 40 students working throughout our building, and we feel it is important to connect them.
Perks: Interns have access to all of SECURA’s great perks including the basketball court, onsite café, game room, and free formal insurance education classes onsite. Check out a full list of perks here.
See what our interns have to say
What has Logan been up to? I am working as an intern on the APD team. My daily tasks are paying supplements and rental invoices. When those tasks are finished I look to see if there are any claims that need to be manually entered into ISO ClaimSearch, and if there rental leases that need to be extended. After all of those tasks are done, I work on projects that are less time sensitive and can be done over the course of the week as I wait for more tasks to be sent to the interns.
Interesting fact about Logan: My two favorite things are the Green Bay Packers and my dog Greg.
What does a Workers Compensation Intern do? Currently I am a part of a project team that is in charge of the WC department’s migration to VitalPoint, a new Rx portal. For this project, I help to make sure our data is accurate and complete for the conversion process. In addition to the VitalPoint migration, I also assist our claim reps by sending out ISO inquiries and I assist the CSR team by helping with the unassigned flow, EDI’s, and other misc. tasks.
Favorite part about working at SECURA: My favorite part about SECURA is the culture. You could be on your first day and everyone gives you the respect as if you have been there for years. In addition, I enjoy how flexible SECURA is with my work/school schedule.
What does your ideal weekend look like? My ideal weekend is to get a round or two of golf in, typically in the morning, followed by getting out on the boat and jet skis in the afternoon, if the weather is nice.
